The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in overseeing the management, administration, and/or engineering of field teams within a construction environment.

This role is a full-time, on-site opportunity.

Responsibilities

As a key player, you will:

  • Manage the project scope, timelines, contractor's field operations, and address construction challenges to ensure successful project delivery within budget and schedule.
  • Act as the primary construction manager for designated projects, reporting directly to the senior construction engineer.
  • Collaborate with facility teams and stakeholders to facilitate work progress while minimizing disruptions to operations.
  • Interpret contract clauses to effectively administer and enforce policies necessary for project completion.
  • Apply Construction Management strategies, particularly in rail, tunnel, and building construction, along with electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Resolve disputes with contractors and utilize administrative processes for execution.
  • Supervise an assistant resident engineer and field personnel, ensuring proper installation and documentation.
  • Review contractor invoices, provide monthly updates on project progress and financial status, and escalate potential issues.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture from an accredited institution is required.
  • At least 7 years of experience in the construction sector, with a minimum of 3 years in a Resident Engineer or similar role.
  • OSHA 30 certification is mandatory.
  • Experience with contractors will also be considered.
  • Experience with the Port Authority of NY/NJ is advantageous.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer or Architect in New York or New Jersey, or a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using computers and the latest office productivity and project management software is essential.
  • Candidates must pass a Secure Worker Access Consortium (SWAC) personnel background screening and comply with information security policies.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities are essential.
