Junior Developer Position

JPI is seeking a skilled Junior Developer to contribute to our team's success by managing and monitoring installed systems and infrastructure.

This role will involve working with the US Coast Guard clients on site in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and will be a great opportunity for a motivated individual to grow with our company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the design, development, analysis, and implementation of software operating systems and software application programs.
  • Work under general supervision to design software operating systems and applications, including full life cycle design and development.
  • Develop and modify operating systems and software applications from specifications.
  • Participate in the design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of programs.
  • Analyze system architecture requirements and perform requirements acquisition and definition and data analysis.
  • Customize purchased applications and perform technical and subject matter research on emerging technologies.
  • Analyze and document client needs and requirements.
  • Participate in the writing, modifying, and maintaining technical documentation and specifications.
  • Perform integration testing and support of various computer operating and/or network systems.
  • Debug and provide customer support for software operating system and application issues.
Requirements
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in software engineering, including the design, coding, testing, and documentation of computer programs.
  • Proficiency in SQL and performance tuning.
  • Experience in any of the following MS SQL /SQL Server 2012, C++, JAVA, Linux, Full Stack Development.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies using latest development tools.
Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or Associates Degree (A.A./A.S.) in a related field or at minimum Information Technology (IT) Certification.
  • Candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Candidate must possess strong oral communication and written comprehension capabilities.
