Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - Acute Care Professional at Trinity Health, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement treatment programs as identified by the supervising occupational therapist, ensuring a seamless patient experience.
  • Under the direction of the supervising occupational therapist, identify age-related differences within the persons served and adjust treatment style and expectations accordingly.
  • Maintain all necessary documentation as required by departmental policy, ensuring accurate and timely records.
  • Process patient billing as required by department, adhering to reimbursement requirements and authorizations.
  • Initiate and encourage good communication and relationships with occupational therapists, physicians, and other healthcare personnel involved in patient care.
  • Build on existing skills and knowledge through continuing education, staying up-to-date with industry developments.
  • Adhere to the code of ethics adopted by the department and the profession, as well as all departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participate actively in daily operations, contributing to compliance with regulations and customer service expectations.

Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited educational program by the AOTA (Associate Degree Program).
  • Current State of Michigan COTA Registration.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills to deal effectively with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
  • Teamwork approach, empathy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude when executing job duties.
  • Excellent customer service orientation skills necessary to deal effectively with various levels of hospital personnel, outside customers, and community groups.
