Position Overview

As a Medication Repackaging Specialist at Specialty Rx Ohio, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate, efficient, and timely repackaging of medications using advanced equipment, including the MTS-350 and MTS-500 systems. You will work closely with our pharmacy team to support the medication management needs of long-term care facilities, maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance while ensuring that processes are completed with speed and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Medication Repackaging: Operate the MTS-350 and MTS-500 systems to accurately repackage medications in accordance with pharmacy protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Speed and Efficiency: Repackage medications with a focus on optimizing both speed and efficiency, ensuring timely delivery to meet the needs of long-term care facilities while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform thorough checks to ensure the accuracy of medication repackaging, including verifying labels, expiration dates, and packaging integrity.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of repackaged medications, ensuring timely restocking and minimizing waste.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repackaged medications, including batch numbers, expiration dates, and quantities, in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists and other team members to address any issues or discrepancies related to medication repackaging.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all safety, cleanliness, and infection control protocols to ensure a safe working environment and high-quality medication products.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including the optimization of repackaging procedures to enhance speed and efficiency while adopting best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Previous experience in medication repackaging or a related pharmacy role is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating automated medication repackaging systems, specifically MTS-350 and MTS-500, is preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining accuracy and quality in all tasks.
  • Speed and Efficiency: Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in pharmacy technology is a plus.
