Litigation Associate

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Litigation Associate to join our legal team at Distinct | North America. As a Litigation Associate, you will be responsible for assisting with various aspects of litigation cases, including legal research, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in court.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough legal research using resources such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis to support case development and strategy.

• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.

• Assist with case management, including organizing documents, maintaining case files, and coordinating with senior attorneys.

• Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials, demonstrating strong communication and advocacy skills.

• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and provide input on key legal issues.

• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the litigation process, ensuring clear and timely updates.

• Negotiate settlements when appropriate, leveraging strong analytical and negotiation skills.

• Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations, applying knowledge to support case development and strategy.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

• Admission to the state bar association.

• Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.

• Proficiency in legal research using resources such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Prior experience in litigation preferred but not required.
