Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Private Music Educator to join our team as a Tutor-On-Call Instructor. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for providing private music lessons to students of various skill levels and ages.

Responsibilities
  • Student Assessment and Instruction
    • Assess student levels in various areas, such as music reading, technique, rhythmic accuracy, and tone production.
    • Determine areas of strength and weakness, and choose literature to support the strengths and improve the weaknesses.
  • Lesson Planning and Execution
    • Determine desires, goals, and needs of students or ensembles.
    • Develop and implement lesson plans to meet the needs of students.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Keep accurate records of student attendance and time sheets.
    • Notify the office of any discrepancies or issues.
  • Recruitment and Outreach
    • Participate in outreach events hosted by our organization.
    • Participate in community events and consider creating your own outreach opportunities.
  • Performance and Collaboration
    • Encourage students to perform in recitals and other performances.
    • Participate in faculty recitals and concerts.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Music or Music Performance.
  • Experience
    • Experience teaching private lessons on applied instruments and/or leading ensembles.
  • Qualifications
    • Participation in a recognized music organization.
    • Suzuki certification(s), if applicable.
