NeighborImpact's Head Start and Early Head Start program provides high-quality early education with critical services, such as medical visits, hearing and vision checks, meals, and family advocacy. Our goal is to support the development of young children and their families in Central Oregon.
Job Summary
We are seeking a flexible and experienced Substitute Center Aide to join our Early Head Start team. As a Substitute Center Aide, you will provide support to our teaching staff by preparing and serving meals, completing daily cleaning tasks, and providing staff breaks. Your primary function will be to substitute for staff who are out and fill in for other positions as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Early Head Start Center Team in creating a successful environment by integrating all program services in a classroom of up to 8 children.
- Prepare and serve meals to children and staff.
- Complete daily cleaning tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Provide staff breaks and support the teaching staff as needed.
- Frequently kneel, stoop, bend, and sit on the floor to attend to children's needs.
- Lift 50 pounds occasionally.
Requirements
- Preference for infant and toddler experience with an Early Head Start or similar program.
- Must be able to promote positive communications within and outside Early Head Start.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Head Start parent or past parent preferred.
- Food Handler's Card required.
- Current enrollment in the OR Child Care Division-Criminal History Registry (CBR) required.
- Access to reliable transportation required.
- Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification required within 60 days of hire.
Compensation
The hourly rate for this position is $20.17 per hour, with an additional $0.50 per hour for bilingual Spanish speakers. Benefits include paid time off for sick leave, Employee Assistance Program, and retirement options.
