Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at UnityPoint Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing respiratory care to patients of all ages, including administration of oxygen, respiratory medicines, and bronchial hygiene. You will also be responsible for maintaining invasive and non-invasive ventilators, assisting with cardiac stress testing, and performing EKGs and bedside monitoring of patient's vital signs.

Responsibilities
  • Administer oxygen, respiratory medicines, and bronchial hygiene to patients of all ages
  • Maintain invasive and non-invasive ventilators
  • Assist with cardiac stress testing and EKGs
  • Perform bedside monitoring of patient's vital signs
  • Assess the respiratory system for all ages
  • Respond to Medical Emergency, Rapid Response, STEMI, and Trauma calls
  • Travel to patients on various nursing units
Requirements
  • Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy
  • Licensed in the state of Iowa as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the NBRC at time of hire
  • Maintains Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the NBRC preferred
  • Basic computer skills, read, writes, comprehends, and speaks English
