Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement physical therapy treatment plans as prescribed by the Physical Therapist, monitoring patient progress and operating therapeutic equipment safely and effectively.
  • Fulfill all job functions of a staff certified physical therapy assistant within scope of practice, including documentation of treatments and patient education.
  • Conduct physical and psychological assessments of clients, following a treatment plan and recommending modifications to their home environments.
  • Assess the need for assistive devices and advise on their use, ensuring patients can regain lost skills and maintain functional mobility.
  • Develop and implement physical rehabilitation programs to help clients regain lost skills and maintain independence.
  • Educate caregivers and family members on patient care, promoting a collaborative approach to rehabilitation.
  • Maintain professional knowledge and technical progress to provide clients with the best treatment program available.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local certification requirements, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
Requirements
  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state(s) where services are rendered.
  • Interest in working with diverse populations, including those with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
  • Willingness to obtain or current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
