Key Responsibilities- Implement physical therapy treatment plans as prescribed by the Physical Therapist, monitoring patient progress and operating therapeutic equipment safely and effectively.
- Fulfill all job functions of a staff certified physical therapy assistant within scope of practice, including documentation of treatments and patient education.
- Conduct physical and psychological assessments of clients, following a treatment plan and recommending modifications to their home environments.
- Assess the need for assistive devices and advise on their use, ensuring patients can regain lost skills and maintain functional mobility.
- Develop and implement physical rehabilitation programs to help clients regain lost skills and maintain independence.
- Educate caregivers and family members on patient care, promoting a collaborative approach to rehabilitation.
- Maintain professional knowledge and technical progress to provide clients with the best treatment program available.
- Comply with federal, state, and local certification requirements, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state(s) where services are rendered.
- Interest in working with diverse populations, including those with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
- Willingness to obtain or current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
