Job Summary

Community Health Service Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and multilingual Call Center Representative to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and clients, handling high volumes of inbound and outbound calls, and processing healthcare service payments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage large volumes of inbound and outbound calls in a timely manner, ensuring accurate and efficient communication with patients and clients.
  • Provide assistance to patients and clients via telephone, responding to their inquiries and resolving their concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Complete initial registration information for new patients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Update patient information in our electronic health record system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Follow established communication protocols and scripts when handling different topics and patient inquiries.
  • Identify patient needs, clarify information, research issues, and provide solutions and alternatives to meet their needs.
  • Navigate patient charts in our electronic health record system to locate relevant information.
  • Maintain daily electronic health record worklists, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify patient coverage under insurance, Medicare, and other federal/state programs.
  • Verify pharmacy information and other clinical information related to patient visits.
  • Process patient payments over the phone, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Document notes in our electronic health record system regarding collections, payment arrangements, failed appointment notices, or additional conversations.
  • Monitor automatic call reminder systems, ensuring cancellations are identified and reconciled with the schedule.
  • Remind patients of appointments when automatic call reminder systems are unable to do so.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Medical Administration Certificate or 2 years of experience in medical reception is required.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word for basic correspondence.
  • Must be able to use a calculator.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to specific environment and duties.
  • Demonstrate clear knowledge of CHSI clinic structure, standards, procedures, and protocols.
  • Must have neat and legible handwriting.
  • Must be able to interact with patients courteously and calmly.
  • Ability to communicate well effectively with patients, clients, vendors, and staff.
