We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Category Manager - Castings, Forgings, and Seals to join our Procurement Organization at Navistar, Inc. This position is responsible for leading key Truck and Engine Casting, Forging, and Seal sourcing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a sourcing strategy that best supports the overall Category strategy.
- Build and manage relationships with cross-functional team members and management.
- Build strong strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure that product quality, on-time delivery, and service levels are met.
- Lead strategic sourcing decisions for both new product launches and transfer business for improved cost, quality, or delivery opportunities.
- Identify and develop new cost reduction opportunities using various procurement levers.
- Analyze commodity spend, including developing recommendations for category and savings opportunities.
- Negotiate with internal customers and external suppliers to maximize results.
- Facilitate communications between external suppliers and various internal departments to resolve queries or issues.
- Lead implementation of cost reduction initiatives.
- Lead junior members of the Powertrain Procurement team in support of the department goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management, or related field.
- At least 10 years of materials management or supply chain experience.
- At least 4 years of management experience.
- Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Navistar does not anticipate providing employment-related work sponsorship for this position.
