Hildebrand, a renowned organization dedicated to disrupting the cycle of homelessness in greater Boston, is seeking a qualified Residential Assistant to join their team. This pivotal role plays a crucial part in ensuring the safety and well-being of families residing at the Hildebrand congregate shelter.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster a clean, harmonious, and welcoming living environment by promoting and modeling exemplary behavior, thereby supporting the overall safety and well-being of residents.
  • Ensure each family has access to a safe, clean, and adequately furnished room, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility during assigned work periods, including conducting regular checks and maintaining the office area.
  • Monitor and enforce community living rules, policies, procedures, and protocols for both families and their visitors, guaranteeing compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Residential Manager and/or Case Manager to develop and implement supportive Re-Housing Plan activities, facilitating residents' transition to independence, dignity, and self-sufficiency.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and other activities to stay updated on program functions and required skills.
  • Uphold the program's and agency's standards by adhering to established rules, regulations, and systems of order.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in Human Services, Residential Program setting.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, family members, and colleagues; maintain client confidentiality and professionalism; and perform physical tasks such as lifting 25 pounds and navigating stairs.
  • Must be CPR/SFA Certified within 30 days of hire.
  • Bilingual Haitian Creole or Spanish required.

This role offers a competitive salary of $40,000 per year, commensurate with experience, and is available Monday through Friday from 3 pm to 11 pm, with 40 hours worked weekly.
