Job Responsibilities
As a Correctional Officer, you will collaborate with a team to uphold order within the facilities by enforcing established rules and regulations, ensuring safety and security while providing care to individuals in custody. Key responsibilities include monitoring activities, overseeing work assignments, conducting cell inspections and searches, resolving conflicts, and ensuring adherence to agency guidelines and standards.
About the Agency
The State of Oregon's correctional system is responsible for managing over 12,000 individuals in custody within state prisons and supervising more than 24,000 offenders in community settings. The agency's mission is to enhance public safety and mitigate the risk of future criminal behavior.
