CFP Board is the professional body for personal financial planners in the U.S., consisting of two affiliated organizations focused on advancing the financial planning profession for the public's benefit.

The organization sets and upholds standards for financial planning and administers the prestigious CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification, which is widely recognized by the public, advisors, and firms as the standard for financial planners.

With more than 100,000 certified professionals in the U.S., CFP Board aims to grow a sustainable and diverse financial planner workforce through its various programs and initiatives.

This role is based in the Washington D.C. office and works a hybrid schedule, with opportunities for growth and development in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new programs and initiatives to drive growth and influence within the financial planning industry.
  • Work closely with senior staff to develop and implement new initiatives, as well as engage with volunteers and stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
  • Manage and lead teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to inform program development and implementation.

We offer an estimated annual base salary of $125,500, with total compensation including incentive compensation for completion of individual goals.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years of work experience in program management, with a strong track record of success in leading teams and developing strategies.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, marketing, communications, or related field; graduate degree in business or related field preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated success in assessing and connecting business strategies with workforce development programs and initiatives.
  • Highly skilled in adaptability, critical thinking, and collaboration, with excellent public speaking skills and group facilitation skills.
