As a vital member of the Mission Systems Integration division at BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems, you will be tasked with the critical role of validating the collection segment prior to launch, alongside ongoing mission integration and testing efforts post-launch aimed at enhancing mission capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define simulator specifications and use cases to facilitate Collection Segment and Mission Integration & Test operations.
  • Ensure the availability of all simulators, Ground Support Equipment, network interfaces, and additional resources necessary for mission-level testing.
  • Lead mission-level testing initiatives, which include early data exchanges, risk mitigation activities, end-to-end data validation, space-to-ground compatibility assessments, factory compatibility checks, and multi-segment testing.
  • Develop, publish, and maintain the SV to ground Interface Control Document (ICD) along with all ICDs pertaining to external interfaces.
  • Support the formulation of the mission Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and functional baseline.
  • Assist in the development and execution of operations and launch rehearsal activities.
  • Plan and implement ongoing Mission Systems Integration and Testing activities post-launch for issue resolution, software updates for space vehicles, ground system modifications, and operational updates.
  • Collaborate closely with the verification lead to establish the mission-level verification strategy.
  • Formulate and execute the Mission Test Plan and associated Mission-level Test Procedures.
  • Maintain a consistent and predictable work schedule.
  • Foster and sustain effective working relationships within the department, across Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units, and the broader organization. Engage appropriately with colleagues to uphold a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Work Environment:
This role necessitates regular in-person engagement, requiring you to work on-site five days a week at the primary work location. Travel and local commuting between company campuses and other potential locations may be necessary.

Working Conditions:
Work is conducted in various environments including offices, laboratories, production floors, cleanrooms, and outdoor or remote research settings. Occasional work in production areas may require the use of protective equipment and gear. Access to other facilities may occur under varying weather conditions.

Required Qualifications:
  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical discipline, accompanied by a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, such as a Master's or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Relevant technical experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Degree must be from an accredited institution recognized by the US Secretary of Education.
  • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is mandatory.
  • Experience with spacecraft simulators and space vehicle testing operations is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with COSMOS or similar mission operations software.
  • Experience in requirements verification using Python or simulator operations.
  • General knowledge of simulator operations.
  • Experience in mission integration and testing, both pre-launch and post-launch.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Linux, software scripting, and JIRA.
  • Experience as a test director and/or test conductor on aerospace programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead discussions, prioritize tasks, and delegate as necessary to achieve objectives.
  • Working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and/or CAM experience.

Compensation Information:
Full-Time Salary Range:
$137,500
