Job Title: Substance Abuse Counselor

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at BayMark Health Services.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individual and group counseling services to patients struggling with opioid addiction. The Counselor will work closely with doctors, nurses, and other counselors to develop and implement treatment plans that address the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of addiction.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial assessments and evaluations to determine service eligibility
  • Develop and review treatment plans with patients
  • Provide individual and group counseling services
  • Coordinate services throughout treatment
  • Involve families and significant others in the recovery process
  • Respond to patient grievances and complaints
  • Develop aftercare and discharge plans
Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science
  • Ability to obtain AAP credentials within 180 days of employment
  • Substance abuse counseling experience and an advanced degree are preferred
  • Positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward patients
  • Understanding of EMR systems
  • Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check
