Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the management of adverse event reporting processes, ensuring thorough investigation and analysis to enhance patient care quality and safety.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including Medical Staff, Quality Management, and Patient Safety, to ensure effective communication and coordination regarding risk-related issues.
  • Conduct educational sessions for staff and physicians on the electronic event reporting system and updates in risk management protocols.
  • Analyze risk data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency in reporting.
  • Participate in the investigation of significant events and coordinate with the Serious Safety Event Response team as necessary.
  • Support the Claims Management process by identifying incidents that may lead to financial loss and conducting thorough investigations.
  • Engage with legal counsel and claims administrators to facilitate claims investigations and reporting.
  • Provide consultation to site departments on risk management practices and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by identifying trends and opportunities for risk reduction.
  • Assist in the development of educational materials and training programs related to healthcare risk management.
Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree is required, with a preference for candidates holding certifications in legal fields or clinical licensure. A minimum of five years of recent experience in healthcare, particularly in risk management or claims, is essential. Familiarity with federal and state healthcare laws is also preferred.

This position requires a proactive approach to risk management, emphasizing collaboration and communication across various departments to enhance patient safety and minimize liability exposure.
