About this Role

This role involves maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing refrigeration, heating, and air-conditioning systems commonly found in supermarkets, convenience stores, and cold storage facilities. As a Service Technician, you will work independently, developing first-line customer relationships and identifying potential sales opportunities. Your responsibilities will include performing routine maintenance procedures, acquiring knowledge through on-the-job training, and communicating effectively with customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform prescribed maintenance procedures on supermarket refrigeration systems and self-contained temperature-controlled merchandisers under the guidance of a Master or Lead Service Technician.
  2. Assist in compressor changeovers, leak detection, and coil cleaning under the direction of a Master or Lead Service Technician.
  3. Acquire knowledge through on-the-job training, including new product development, service bulletins, computer-based training, and issues.
  4. Communicate promptly and effectively with customers and colleagues.
  5. Demonstrate the ability to use a hand-held computer to complete customer paperwork and invoicing, as well as maintain accurate and organized records.
  6. Identify and utilize standard tools of the trade, including refrigerant recovery equipment.
  7. Develop excellent customer relationships with Field Service Managers or Area Service Managers.
  8. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED and Certification from a Technical School
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 Years of experience in HVAC
Qualifications
  • Valid Driver's License and a safe driving record
  • Physical ability to walk distances, bend, crouch, climb ladders, work at high elevations, and lift/carry objects up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly motivated
  • Working knowledge of commercial refrigeration and supermarket experience
  • Leadership and business skills
  • 608 Universal Certification
