Diesel Mechanic/Technician I

Job Summary
As a skilled Technician at Penske, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on our fleet of vehicles. This role requires strong diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. You will also have the opportunity to learn from your manager and informally mentor others.
Key Responsibilities
Maintaining and ensuring the safety of vehicles for customers
Performing preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with little or no supervision and in a timely manner
Repairing and troubleshooting major components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials, including replacing complete assemblies, turbochargers, fuel system components, etc.
Keeping work areas clean and safe
Using Penske's tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
Learning new skills through Penske's technician training
Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance
High school diploma or equivalent
Specialized training
Experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components
ASE certification
608/609 certifications
Ability to solve problems
Excellent customer service skills and communication skills
Ability to work well as part of a team
Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
Basic computer skills
