Role Responsibilities:
The Social Services Specialist will be responsible for:
- Assessing client situations through interviews and evaluations of medical, psychological, emotional, and social factors, including conducting home visits.
- Collaborating with clients to establish actionable plans by exploring various options and setting achievable goals.
- Connecting clients with community resources by facilitating referrals, scheduling appointments, and building relationships with external agencies.
- Encouraging client progress by interpreting behaviors and suggesting new pathways for improvement.
- Documenting client interactions and maintaining comprehensive case records.
- Conducting follow-ups to monitor the effectiveness of implemented plans.
- Adhering to organizational policies and procedures while participating in quality assurance reviews.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legal standards by staying informed about current legislation and advising management on necessary actions.
- Protecting client confidentiality and maintaining the integrity of operations by safeguarding sensitive information.
- Gaining in-depth knowledge of local community resources and public/private support services available to our clientele.
- Innovating strategies to engage populations with limited access to social services.
- Maintaining a flexible schedule to accommodate client needs, including evening appointments.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A Master of Social Work (MSW) degree.
- A Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential.
- Preferred: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification.
- A Special Education Teaching Credential or equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of two years of social work experience in California's Central Valley is preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish, both written and verbal, is required.
- Outstanding communication and listening skills.
- Knowledge of local social service agencies and relevant state regulations.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- A commitment to the mission and educational philosophy of our organization.
- A passion for serving traditionally underserved communities.
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $77,550 - $95,682, with final compensation based on skills and experience. Additional benefits include:
