Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to fill the role of Wildlife Habitat Conservation Specialist. This position will be responsible for conducting field monitoring and evaluation on wildlife habitat projects, promoting and implementing conservation practices, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve conservation goals.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct field monitoring and evaluation on wildlife habitat projects, including spring bird surveys, fall quail covey counts, and vegetation and pollinator monitoring.
- Promote and implement conservation practices, including working with landowners to develop and implement conservation plans.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including landowners, conservation organizations, and government agencies, to achieve conservation goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with landowners and other stakeholders to promote conservation practices and achieve conservation goals.
- Collect and analyze data on wildlife populations and habitat conditions, and use this information to inform conservation decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as wildlife management, conservation biology, or environmental science.
- At least 2 years of experience in wildlife conservation or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of wildlife ecology, conservation biology, and habitat management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience working with USDA conservation programs, such as EQIP and CSP.
- Knowledge of ArcGIS and other geographic information systems.
- Experience with data analysis and report writing.
