Job Title: Wildlife Habitat Conservation Specialist

Job Summary:

Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Wildlife Habitat Conservation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our conservation team, you will be responsible for conducting field monitoring and evaluation on wildlife habitat projects, documenting the effectiveness of conservation practices, and promoting conservation programs to private landowners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct field monitoring and evaluation on wildlife habitat projects
• Document the effectiveness of conservation practices
• Promote conservation programs to private landowners
• Work with Quail Forever and UGA staff to streamline monitoring efforts on USDA-funded projects
• Communicate directly with private landowners on the intent, importance, and objectives of effectiveness monitoring

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Range Management, Agriculture, Forestry, Wildlife Management, or closely related field
• Minimum of two years related experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to manage demanding workloads
• Proficiency with ArcGIS, ArcPro, Survey 123, GPS, Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Range Management, Agriculture, Forestry, Wildlife Management, or closely related field
• Experience working with USDA Farm Bill programs (EQIP, CSP, RCPP, ACEP, and CRP)
