The Strategy and Policy Department within MITRE's Intelligence Center seeks a Financial and Budget Analyst to provide resource management expertise to our sponsors. This role involves budget formulation and justification, proposing resource allocation, and collaborating with senior intelligence officials to ensure critical mission requirements are funded and executed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering analysis results and recommendations for Congressional Budget Justification Books, Congressional inquiries, and budget marks
  • Collecting, analyzing, and disseminating budget and financial data with senior staff across the government
  • Providing analysis and assessment of technical and programmatic baselines to ensure alignment with directorate needs
  • Assessing policy changes and their effect on budget requests
  • Reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing budget exhibits
  • Leveraging IT systems to collect, monitor, and analyze current budget allocations
  • Providing clear, concise, and unbiased recommendations to senior government officials

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with current polygraph
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with relevant experience
  • Due to the lengthy clearance process, candidates without an existing TS/SCI clearance with polygraph cannot be considered for this position
  • This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with analysis conducted using Microsoft Excel
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, accounting, or related field with a fundamental level of data analysis
  • Ability to lead a financial-related study, conduct research, collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, and communicate results for decision makers
  • Ability to interact with senior level government officials in a fast-paced environment
