Job Overview:

The Senior Accounting Analyst will be tasked with ensuring the precision and promptness of natural gas financial transactions, encompassing transportation, storage, and physical purchase/sale dealings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the accuracy of monthly accounting processes, ensuring all transactions for the current month are recorded correctly, along with account analysis and reconciliation tasks.
  • Report to management on business performance, providing detailed analysis and explanations for any significant deviations from expected results.
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company policies for all recorded transactions.
  • Validate all balance sheet items to ensure they are legitimate and substantiated.
  • Accrue transactions based on estimates and adjust upon receipt of actual data as necessary.
  • Process sales and purchases of natural gas for designated assets in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Handle commodity and transportation invoices with precision and punctuality.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the Commercial team, effectively communicating financial and operational outcomes.
  • Meet all regulatory reporting obligations with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary information and assistance.
  • Complete quarterly and annual regulatory reports as required.
  • Participate in system testing for new implementations and updates.
  • Generate ongoing and ad hoc financial and management reports related to transactions and balances in assigned accounts.
  • Conduct analytical reviews of system-generated reports to ensure proper recording of transactions in accounting systems.
  • Address and resolve inquiries from both internal and external customers.
Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
  • Proficient in SAP, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong sense of ownership over assigned responsibilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
