With a dedicated workforce of approximately 300 employees, they excel in both Plan & Spec and Design-Build/Assist projects, while also expanding their commercial service and maintenance division.
Position Overview
We are currently looking for a Lead Cost Estimator to enhance our client's pre-construction team. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate cost estimations for a wide array of construction projects. The position offers the flexibility of being fully remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for various construction initiatives.
- Thoroughly analyze project documentation, including plans, specifications, and drawings.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, and architects to formulate detailed estimates.
- Evaluate and review bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Conduct in-depth cost analysis and risk assessments.
- Ensure the precision and completeness of all estimates.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Provide assistance during the bidding and negotiation processes.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction estimating.
- Proficient in industry-standard software such as BuildingConnected, Bluebeam, FastDUCT, and FastPIPE.
- Experience managing project scopes ranging from $1M to $50M.
- Preferred experience with high-rise projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC construction, including ductwork and sheet metal.
- Understanding of plumbing systems and commercial plumbing projects.
- Familiarity with mechanical equipment, drawings, and specifications.
- Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation capabilities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
