Chinese Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Outpatient Dietitian to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical nutrition therapy and education to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients' nutritional risk and health status, and develop personalized plans of care.
- Provide individual and group medical nutrition therapy, counseling, and support for the prevention and management of chronic health conditions.
- Collaborate with care team members to identify patient needs and make recommendations.
- Develop and approve nutrition protocols for patients, and assist with the development of instructional materials on nutrition and dietary guidance.
- Lead and facilitate classes for our Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) program, Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), and Sweet Success Gestational Diabetes Management Program.
- Participate in professional development activities, and follow hospital and department policies and procedures.
- Current certification as a Registered Dietitian in the state of California, and evidence of continuing professional education to maintain registration.
- BLS – Basic Life Support Certification – issued by AHA-American Heart Association.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of evidence-based medical nutrition therapy and educational principles, including motivational interviewing techniques, weight management, diabetes management, and preventive health and wellness.
- Ability to work on a computer with a basic level of proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Familiarity with electronic charting, and strong time management and prioritization skills.
- High School Diploma or GED.
This role requires regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, and listening, with the ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand, walk, and move 50% of the day.
Compliance RequirementsCompliance with Chinese Hospital Compliance Handbook, including Code of Ethics and all statutes, regulations, guidelines applicable to federal and state programs.
CompensationStarting at $38.28 – $49.95 per hour, with the salary of the finalist selected for this role set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
