About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical/Control Systems Design Engineer to join our team at TRC Talent Solutions. As a key member of our toner production engineering group, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing control systems for our manufacturing equipment.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year

Job Description

In this vital role, you will be responsible for assisting higher-level engineers with assignments related to evaluating, selecting, installing, setting up, designing modifications for, testing, troubleshooting, improving the performance of, and establishing maintenance procedures for manufacturing equipment. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the efficient operation of our production lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, plan, prepare RFQs, install and set up equipment with industrial standards used in chemical manufacturing processes (fine powder or similar products).
  • Recommend equipment modifications to improve production efficiency, manufacturing techniques, and production yields for existing products.
  • Involve in continuous improvement of current equipment to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Design and fabricate or organize external fabrication of new and replacement parts.
  • Support and perform Kaizen activities as a control engineer in all divisions of Toner manufacturing (Toner Process, Toner Filling, Assembly).
  • Ensure proper functioning of Compressors and Air dryers.
  • Troubleshoot routine to moderately complex manufacturing equipment electrical and control system problems.
  • Sustain existing production lines by addressing ECR-ECOs, product quality, process improvements, and responsiveness to ergonomic and safety-related issues.
  • Investigate and determine root causes of equipment failures/problems and implement countermeasures.
  • Create and modify troubleshooting, start-up, equipment setup documents, and other procedures.
  • Prepare schedules for Preventive Maintenance as per manufacturing company's equipment manuals.
  • Presentation report with detailed root cause analysis and data.
  • Prepare training materials to train production and maintenance personnel on the usage and maintenance of equipment.
Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have:

Education:

Bachelor's degree or better in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field.

Skills:

Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software engineering principles to create and maintain automated processes.

Proficient in AutoCAD for producing technical plans, blueprints, electrical layouts, drawings, and models.

Ability to program Robots (Fanuc and Epson preferred) and set up vision systems (Keyence preferred).

Working knowledge of practical application of engineering science and technology to produce various products.

Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines with driven and cost-effective results.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, research, and project management skills.

Effective communication and presentation skills.

Proficient in Office 365, specifically Excel.

Mathematical skills, particularly data analysis.

Must have the ability to work occasional overtime.

Experience:

Minimum 2-4 years of experience in Controls/Electrical Engineering.
