About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care. As an Advanced Practice Clinician, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with acute, critical, and chronic illnesses and diseases within an inpatient hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients' medical histories, conduct physical examinations, and assess and determine differential diagnoses.
  • Prescribe medication, therapy, and treatments accordingly.
  • Interpret and evaluate patient data to determine management and treatment of patients.
  • Perform minor surgeries and routine procedures as needed.
  • Consult with physicians as appropriate and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies.
  • Adjust patient care plans by reviewing and monitoring treatments and therapy plans.
  • Counsel, instruct, and educate patients on physical and mental health, including diet, preventive health measures, health behaviors, self-care skills, disease, treatment options, and normal growth and development.
  • Provide care coordination, including managing ancillary services, pre-operative plans, discharge planning, provider referrals, and medical devices.
  • Prescribe, recommend, and regulate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies across multiple care settings.
Requirements
  • Physician Assistant license issued by the state in which the caregiver practices.
  • Physician Assistant (PA-C) certification issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the caregiver practices, and Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) certification issued by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or Nurse Practitioner (AANP) certification issued by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated high level of clinical proficiency and excellent decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective member of a healthcare team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with and establish/build relationships with others.
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the workday. The caregiver must have functional speech, vision, touch, and hearing. The caregiver must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance. The caregiver must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present.

The caregiver will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids. Protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
