Job Summary

Hexagon Agility is seeking a skilled Fabrication Associate I to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for performing moderate mechanical assembly work, utilizing hand tools and portable power tools to assemble structures according to engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify conformance of materials to specifications using various tools.
  • Study drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
  • Cut, bend, and machine parts to meet specifications.
  • Operate CNC fabrication equipment, including lasers, press brakes, and vertical machines.
  • Set up and operate various fabricating machines to complete assigned operations.
  • Lay out and examine metals stock or materials to be processed.
  • Lift or move materials using various devices.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment.
  • Train and guide new employees as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED and/or training certificate from trade school.
  • Two years of experience related to metal forming, machining, and fabrication, preferably in an automotive or aerospace environment.
  • Good understanding of the physical properties of aluminum and steel.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.

Work Environment:

  • Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
