Fabrication Specialist Job Description

Wastequip is seeking a skilled Fabrication Specialist to join our team in Salisbury, NC. As a Fabrication Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our manufacturing operation by fabricating steel parts and tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Select, position, and align machines to ensure proper function.
  • Use grinders or die grinders to remove burrs and ensure smooth finishes.
  • Adjust fabrication machines as needed to maintain optimal performance.
  • Lay out or detail layouts on fabricated pieces from prints or templates.
  • Position work pieces manually or with hoists to align with machines.
  • Start and deactivate machines as required.
  • Verify dimensions of fabricated products for accuracy and completeness.
  • Check fabrication runs and counts to ensure completion or in-process status.
  • Use data collection terminals to accurately input shop orders into the system.
  • Ability to weld a variety of steel materials, including mild carbon and high-strength materials.
  • Assemble parts in various assembly areas, utilizing jigs, fixtures, tape measures, and layout marks.
  • Lay out, position, and tack weld work pieces.
  • Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Deliver products to desired locations using fork trucks or push carts.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three months of related experience and/or training preferred.
