Job Responsibilities
  • Rental Equipment Inspection
    • Inspect rental equipment upon return from rent for defects
    • Recognize and report any damages to received machines immediately to supervisor
    • Document the condition of equipment for use in recognizing recent damage to assist in recouping repair costs
    • Prioritize equipment for service by communicating with Fleet Maintenance Coordinator and Rental Sales people
    • Ensure the safety of equipment prior to equipment being deemed "Rent Ready"
  • Equipment Yard Organization and Maintenance
    • Keep rental equipment clean and in designated areas
    • Rotate electric aerial equipment on charge line
    • Keep all items located in the yard and shop neat and organized
    • Keep all L.P. bottles filled and notify mechanic(s) and/or supervisor of defective tanks
    • Notify supervisor of problems with or broken rental equipment
    • Unload outside hauler trucks/trailers
    • Assist customers with the loading and unloading of equipment
    • Maintain wash bay cleanliness
  • Time Management and Teamwork
    • Be prepared for scheduled work hours and with special hours as needed
    • Plan the day's workload based on supervisor's direction
    • Utilize time to minimize lost productivity
    • Maintain a clean and safe work area, along with maintaining yard and building
    • Maintain shop tools and fixtures and report misuse
    • Work well with others in the Rental Department
    • Work well with other departments
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Attend training schools as requested
    • Perform pre-delivery inspections, warranty registration, and decaling of new equipment
    • Assist in delivery of small rental items in a 3⁄4-ton pickup
    • Perform as needed cleaning and organizing
    • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Clean driving record
  • Above-average communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to read and follow instructions
  • Ability to accomplish duties with accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to self-motivate
  • Ability to learn and obtain certification (if applicable) on proper equipment operation on various types of material handling and construction equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of basic hand tools
  • Strong mechanical background

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

This position will be working at branch facilities mostly outdoors with the potential of traveling to customer locations. The employee will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures. The normal auto hazards will apply. This position will be frequently operating equipment with potential hazards. Appropriate safety equipment and practices are required.

The employee must be able to lift up to 100 pounds on a frequent basis, push/pull up to 100 pounds, and stand, walk, twist, climb, and crawl. The employee must also be able to wear safety glasses and safety shoes. The employee must be medically capable of performing all aspects of the job with the maximum amount of safety.

This position is deemed a Safety Sensitive job for purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment, the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, and the Louisiana Therapeutic Marijuana Act.
