Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified Instructor, Emergency Medical Services: EMT to join our team at GeorgiaGov. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching credited courses in Emergency Medical Services: EMT and AEMT at Gwinnett Technical College.
Responsibilities:
- Teach credited courses in Emergency Medical Services: EMT and AEMT
- Develop and implement program curriculum to meet state, national, and accreditation standards
- Evaluate students' progress in attaining goals and objectives
- Request and maintain supplies and equipment and prepare budget requests
- Maintain program certification requirements
- Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports
- Attend staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences
- Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area
Requirements:
- Associate degree in paramedicine from a regionally accredited institution
- Two years' full-time experience in the field as a paramedic
- Certification as a Nationally Registered Paramedic or current State of Georgia paramedic license
- Current Georgia EMS Instructor Coordinator – AEMT or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- BLS and ACLS instructor certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field from a regionally accredited institution
- Minimum of five years teaching experience in a CoAEMSP Accredited Paramedic Program
- PHTLS and PALS instructor certification
Work Environment:
This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and multiple priorities. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty.
Physical Demands:
This position requires standing, sitting, and moving about to accomplish tasks. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and move objects up to 20 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
