Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room (ER) Nurse who is licensed and prepared to thrive in a high-pressure environment. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional skills, empathy, quick decision-making abilities, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of care in the emergency room.
  • Quickly assess patients, prioritize needs, and assist with minor procedures.
  • Oversee the patient check-in process, perform triage duties, and assist with initial insurance documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and patients regarding test results and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff and relay lab results to ER physicians.
  • Assist in the management of trauma cases, cardiac emergencies, strokes, sexual assault cases, and conscious sedation.
  • Exhibit sound judgment in emergency situations based on patient conditions, vital signs, and assessments.
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for all ER patients, including intubations, defibrillations, auto transfusions, Medlock insertions, splinting, and more.

Education Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or equivalent by endorsement
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum one year of experience in Emergency Department required
  • Specific nursing skills and knowledge relevant to the specialty

Licenses/Certification Requirements:

  • Current RN License required; valid state nursing licenses or an active RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact

Physical Requirements:

  • Medium Work - ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly
