Job Title: Assistant Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team at WSP. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of construction projects, working closely with our Project Managers and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the management of project plans, schedules, and monitoring of building construction, repair, and rehabilitation projects from planning stages through to completion.
  • Provide support in tracking, monitoring, researching validity and compliance with Contract documents for all work from inception to final closure.
  • Communicate with Contractors and project team members to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Manage RFI's, change orders, contract document review, shop drawings, submittals/approvals, and other technical matters.
  • Assist in managing forecast and cost scheduling, change orders review, and the review of payments.
  • Manage project contract documents, codes, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in managing field memorandums and field directives.
  • Support the Project Manager or EIC with payment application review, writing minutes of project meetings, preparing regular reports, field inspections, and other duties related to construction site activities.
  • Review contract claims and advise senior management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher degree in a relevant field, such as Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Two years of professional experience in construction planning, cost estimating, project scheduling, resource management, and construction document reading and interpretation.
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in construction involving multiple phases of large-scale building/rehabilitation projects valued above $10 million, with knowledge of all facets of construction and construction documents.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the role of Assistant Project Manager responsible for large-scale projects valued above $10 million, with an extensive knowledge of all facets of construction and construction documents.
  • Strong Civil Engineering background with experience of inspection requirements for various trades.
  • Valid driver's license - Occasional travel within the region may be required.
  • Proven ability to adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
