Dear Media is seeking a seasoned Editorial Director to spearhead our content strategy and lead our team of writers and editors. As the Editorial Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing editorial standards, ensuring all content aligns with our brand voice, and identifying new opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee editorial strategy that aligns with the company's business goals and audience.
  • Ensure all content is accurate, engaging, and aligns with brand voice.
  • Lead and manage a team of writers and editors, providing guidance on editorial standards, tone, and voice to maintain consistency across all content.
  • Oversee the editorial calendar, ensuring timely production and publication of content, and coordinate with various departments to align on business initiatives.
  • Edit up to 10+ stories per day across all platforms.
  • Produce high-quality written content daily on dearmedia.com.
  • Create and send editorially curated emails.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest digital media trends and incorporate them into editorial strategy.
  • Understand audience behavior and needs, ensuring the company is serving the best target audiences.
  • Identify new opportunities for growth and audience development.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key industry influencers and thought leaders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in digital media with at least 3 years in a senior editorial role.
  • Proven track record of developing successful content strategies.
  • Experience overseeing multi-platform content from brainstorm to execution, while keeping up with daily deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and management experience.
  • Deep understanding of SEO and analytics.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices in social media marketing.
