Key Duties:
  • Complete the necessary training and in-service sessions for hospice volunteers
  • Engage in quality enhancement initiatives
  • Accurately document volunteer activities
  • Relay clinical information to the Volunteer Coordinator
  • Provide emotional and spiritual assistance to patients and their families
  • Uphold confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Report any grievances or concerns to the designated personnel
  • Follow established infection control protocols
  • Maintain composure and logical thinking in unexpected situations
  • Ensure respect for the rights of patients
  • Wear identification badges for recognition
  • Offer privacy and appropriate physical contact to patients
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families
  • Coordinate with the RN Case Manager or Administrator regarding changes in patient visits
