About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting to join our team at Choice Hotels International. As a key member of our Corporate Accounting department, you will be responsible for leading a team of accountants and contributing to the preparation of financial reports, analysis, and reconciliations.

Responsibilities
  • Mentor and lead a team of 3 accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of accounting tasks.
  • Assist in corporate accounting activities, including domestic accounting close, analysis, and reconciliations, as well as establishing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
  • Review financial data, cash flow schedules, and footnotes to support internal reporting and external reporting for the quarterly 10Q's and 10K's.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and internal policies, including updating and adherence to critical controls and participation in testing by internal and external audit staff.
  • Play a key role in upgrading our technology and processes, including our finance transformation and ERP implementation project, while supporting and training our people.
Requirements
  • Self-motivated and inquisitive with a drive to continually improve communication, processes, and systems.
  • Excellent communicator and ambassador for finance with business contacts, forging relationships and collaborating across the Finance organization.
  • Leader who inspires and mentors their team, listening and guiding to positively impact their careers and goals.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with an active license (or candidate).
  • At least 10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with 6 years of supervisory experience, in a combination of public accounting or accounting roles.
  • Hospitality industry experience is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with general ledger software systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Knowledgeable in operational accounting and U.S. GAAP, with experience in financial reporting and/or accounting policy.
  • Strong integrity and ethical decision-making, with experience in financial statements audits or working for a public company subject to financial statement audits and SOX audits.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet internal and external deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
