We are seeking a highly skilled Health Psychologist to join our team at ChristianaCare. As a key member of our Embedded Behavioral Health department, you will play a vital role in enhancing and improving the quality of patient care by providing assessment, treatment, consultation, and education services for individuals experiencing behavioral health needs associated with their medical and health conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive clinical interviews and assessments to provide diagnostic impressions and treatment recommendations to patients with chronic pain and other health-related conditions.
- Develop and implement evidence-based psychological interventions, including individual and group therapy, to promote patient well-being and health behavior change.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, case management, and psychiatrists, to develop and implement treatment plans and connect patients with community-based services as needed.
- Effectively communicate and work constructively with the treatment team to ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient clinical status, progress, and treatment in the electronic health record.
- Coordinate care services with patients, families, providers, payment sources, and other involved parties to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Participate in the design and implementation of research, evaluation, and quality improvement projects to assess the effectiveness of the health psychology component and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date on effective strategies and interventions to address psychological issues and health behavior change for patients with palliative care needs and other health-related conditions.
- Maintain licenses and certifications in areas of specialty and complete mandatory education requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of department and patient information.
- PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology required.
- Delaware license or eligibility for Delaware license required. All qualified candidates will be required to be licensed with the State of DE prior to start date.
- Three to five years of experience in clinical/health psychology, working with individuals and groups to address chronic health-related conditions, preferred.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary treatment teams in a medical setting, preferred.
