Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Co-Manager to join our team at Sam's Club. As a Co-Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Club Manager in directing and guiding members of management and hourly associates on proper member service approaches and techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Club Manager in ensuring member needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved within company guidelines and standards.
  • Oversee club operations in the absence of the Club Manager.
  • Assist with member service as needed.
  • Assist members with purchases.
  • Answer questions or provide information to members and associates.
  • Model appropriate service levels and develop effective merchandise presentation.
  • Direct and develop the management team in all facility operations.
  • Ensure asset protection, inventory control, member service, and member and associate safety.
  • Communicate with members of management and associates about facility operations, merchandising, and company direction.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for members of management and hourly associates.
  • Monitor the hiring, training, and mentoring of associates.
  • Assign duties, provide recognition, and ensure diversity awareness.
  • Recruit qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve Company growth potential.
  • Uphold the Company's Open Door Policy by meeting with associates and listening to concerns.
  • Research issues, review Company policies and procedures, and provide resolutions for associates.
  • Adhere to Company and legal policies, procedures, and compliance regulations for a Facility.
  • Implement and monitor human resource compliance, asset protection, and safety controls.
  • Participate in community outreach programs and encourage and support associates in serving as good members of the community.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key individuals or groups in the community.
  • Act as the representative for the Company and present the Company's perspective to various external organizations.
  • Build knowledge and skills in operating a Facility by delegating duties and assignments to Assistant Managers.
  • Review and analyze reports, create budgets, lead Facility tours, set Facility standards, and provide communication updates about the Company.
  • Monitor the financial performance of the Facility by confirming that budgeted sales, membership, wages, and other expenses are achieved.
  • Assist in leading the management team in controlling expenses and wages to ensure expenses are indexed to sales.
  • Create and implement plans to improve the financial performance of the Facility.
  • Shadow the creation of budgets and participate in analyzing economic trends and community needs for budget forecasting.
  • Support the oversight and enforcement of the execution of food safety standards, cold chain compliance, and food merchandise quality.
  • Evaluate the temperature, storage, sanitation, date coding, product rotation, labels, and recalls on stocked merchandise.
  • Ensure the fresh area's forecast for production, on-hand supplies, and current in stock are in line with Company expectations and the Facility budgets.
  • Contribute to membership and sales growth in a Facility by visiting Business Members and potential Members' places of business.
  • Build Member relationships inside and outside the Facility.
  • Observe the directing of managers in Member relationship development and visits.
  • Motivate the Membership Sales Team.
  • Model all Associates about the value of Membership and the quality of Sam's Club's merchandise.
  • Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
  • Identify and communicate goals and objectives.
  • Build accountability for and measure progress in achieving results.
  • Identify and address improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and promote continuous learning.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates.
  • Hire and train associates.
  • Mentor associates.
  • Assign duties.
  • Provide recognition.
  • Ensure diversity awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements
  • 2 years' experience in retail management or related field.
