Pediatric Radiology Staff Nurse

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse for our Pediatric Radiology department, who thrives in a dynamic hospital environment.

In this role, you will deliver nursing care to pediatric patients undergoing diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety while working closely with the Radiology team to enhance patient flow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients prior to the start of sedation.
  • Administer sedation and monitor patients throughout the Radiologic examination or intervention.
  • Oversee patient recovery post-sedation and/or interventional procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members across various modalities to ensure timely completion of interventions or diagnostic examinations.
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding the procedures and post-discharge care.
  • Exhibit commitment to teamwork, adaptability, professionalism, effective communication, critical thinking, and exceptional customer service.
  • Optimize time and resources efficiently.
  • Engage in personal professional development and contribute to the growth of colleagues.
  • Participate in achieving departmental and hospital objectives.
Qualifications


All employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless an exemption for medical or religious reasons is granted.


  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or an equivalent nursing qualification with enrollment in a BSN program.
  • Active nursing license in the State of Texas and current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, effective time management, flexibility, and excellent oral and written communication skills, along with knowledge of unit-specific equipment and the nursing process.
  • Preferred experience in PACU, ICU, ER, or Radiology.
