Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Athletic Trainer to join our team at Hopedale Medical Complex. As a key member of our sports medicine department, you will be responsible for providing top-notch care to our athletes and ensuring their optimal health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prevent and treat athletic injuries, maintaining the health and well-being of athletes.
  • Act as a Physician Extender during HMC clinics or as needed, providing medical coverage at outside games, practices, and/or tournaments.
  • Communicate with athletes, parents, athletic directors, coaches, and physicians regarding athletes' playing status and ability to return to competition.
  • Coordinate with school Athletic Directors regarding school sports coverage/programs.
  • Develop and implement patient treatment programs, demonstrating creativity, skill, and efficiency.
  • Provide clear and concise written information when giving patient education to patients and/or their families.
  • Manage supplies and obtain new supplies as needed to provide school athletic training.
  • Participate in State, District, and National Athletic Training Organizations as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an Athletic Training Program or Entry Level Masters.
  • BOC certification and IL AT license or eligible.
  • Approximately one to two years' experience of progressively responsible related experience necessary to gain a thorough knowledge of athletic training techniques.
Working Conditions
  • Works in all athletic type atmospheres where there may be discomforts due to dust, dirt, noise, heat, and the like.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds daily.
  • Ability to carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.
  • Stand, walk, and kneel for 90% of work time.
  • Ability to stoop and bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands, have manual dexterity, ability to communicate with others, and color vision.
  • Must be able to push and/or pull supply carts, gurneys, and/or wheelchairs.
  • Ability to lift and position patients.
  • Able to read and manipulate all equipment dials/controls.
