Key Responsibilities:

As a Forklift Fleet Technician, you will be entrusted with the following duties under the guidance of the Superintendent, Supervisor, or Lead Mechanic:
  • Inspect and maintain various types of automotive equipment.
  • Replace worn, damaged, or defective components on forklifts and related machinery.
  • Troubleshoot, tune-up, and adjust forklifts as necessary.
  • Utilize diagnostic and scanning tools effectively.
  • Disassemble, overhaul, and reassemble mechanical parts on forklifts and auxiliary equipment.
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace electrical systems, including ignition components.
  • Repair and maintain hydraulic systems.
  • Possess basic welding skills.
  • Document performance and repair activities using spreadsheets.
  • Manage parts inventory and prepare requisitions for tools and supplies.
  • Hold a valid California Driver's License.
  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of other equipment as required.
Seasonal Expectations:
  • During peak processing season, our operations run continuously.
  • Flexibility to work any shift, including weekends, is essential during this period.
  • Willingness to work overtime, potentially up to 11.5 hours daily, during processing season.
Pre-employment Criteria:
  • Candidates will undergo a skills assessment, drug screening, and background verification.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in maintaining heavy fleet machinery and/or forklifts.
