Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of safety and compliance within our operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading safety initiatives, ensuring adherence to environmental and safety management systems, and providing essential support to site leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations by conducting thorough machine risk assessments and verifying the implementation of safety measures.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of capital projects with a focus on safety.
- Evaluate safety risks at various workstations and lead assessments as necessary.
- Promote safety awareness and engagement across the organization.
- Prepare for and participate in both internal and external safety audits.
- Analyze incidents and accidents, ensuring that corrective action plans are developed and executed.
- Conduct self-assessments and recommend action plans for improvement.
- Support case management for employees involved in safety incidents.
- Facilitate root cause analysis following safety incidents to prevent recurrence.
- Document and report safety data in compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Develop and implement safety training and awareness programs.
- Conduct safety training for new hires and specific teams.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure compliance with Michelin Safety Programs.
- Notify site safety management of any critical risk situations and recommend corrective actions.
- Actively participate in safety network meetings to share insights and strategies.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) within a manufacturing setting.
- A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related discipline.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and organizational capabilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of mastering internal software systems.
