The Role
We are seeking a skilled Building Engineer I to oversee all aspects of the operation and maintenance of the school buildings, grounds, and boiler/hvac system. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of reports, maintaining a work order system, and completing work orders in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience as a building engineer or in a handyman capacity and possess a boiler license. A high school diploma and knowledge of state and federal safety regulations are also required.
Responsibilities
* Timeliness and accuracy of reports* Maintain work order system and complete work orders in a timely manner* Oversee maintenance and training of life systems and procedures* Conduct periodic inspections of all school facilities to ensure proper fire and safety procedures* Supervise and inspect improvement and renovation work performed by outside contractors* Perform regular maintenance on plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and electrical systems* Plan and implement work schedules and recommend changes in staffing levels as needed* Assist in preparing and maintaining annual building operation budget* Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and safety procedures in all phases of the building operation* Attend in-service and training as required* Prepare and maintain records for required audits and reviews
About You
To be successful in this role, you should have excellent organizational skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, and be physically agile and dexterous. Intermediate computer skills are also necessary. Experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.
