About the Role

Lightspeed Construction Group is seeking a highly skilled Fiber Splicer to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for the installation of new cable lines, both underground and on utility poles, and performing maintenance on existing cables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install new cable lines, including underground and on utility poles
  • Perform maintenance on existing cables, including evaluation tests and repair
  • Utilize Fusion Splicer to splice Loose Tube & Ribbon fiber cable
  • Prep/Splice single-mode (SM) and multi-mode (MM) optical fiber cables
  • Troubleshoot fiber utilizing an OTDR
  • Strong communication skills required between splicer and tech ops manager
  • Proper record keeping and review of cable records as necessary
  • Maintain equipment and vehicle to a high standard
  • Work indoors and outdoors as needed
  • Coordinate with tech ops managers to verify and perform work as directed

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office software including Excel, Word and PowerPoint with the technical aptitude to learn additional databases
