Job Responsibilities:
  • Meal Preparation & Delivery: Prepare and serve meals following established recipes, portion control standards, and food safety protocols. Maintain cleanliness and order in all food service areas.
  • Customer Engagement: Ensure a positive experience for students, staff, and visitors by greeting them professionally. Respond to questions regarding menu items, pricing, and payment methods.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies according to established guidelines. Support inventory control efforts.
  • Operational Collaboration: Work alongside the kitchen team to ensure efficient operations and timely meal service. Comply with school district policies and regulations.
  • Service Line Setup: Organize and maintain the food service line, including plates, utensils, food, and beverages.
  • Dishwashing Duties: Carry out dishwashing responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in food service or customer-facing roles is advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Strong customer service and communication abilities.
  • Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Physical endurance to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks.
  • Basic math skills and experience with cash handling are essential. Familiarity with cash registers is a plus.
Work Environment:

The Food Service Associate will primarily operate in a school cafeteria setting, with the possibility of early morning shifts and occasional evenings or weekends for special events. The role may involve exposure to hot temperatures, steam, and cleaning agents.

Compensation:

$16.00 per hour
