Job Summary

Kilgore College is seeking qualified music instructors to join our faculty team. As an adjunct music instructor, you will be responsible for teaching private lessons, leading masterclasses, and coordinating with the Director of Instrumental Music.

Responsibilities
  • Teach applied private lessons at the college level
  • Lead masterclasses with ensembles
  • Coordinate with the Director of Instrumental Music
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in music or a related field
  • Professional performing experience and focus
  • Team teaching capability in the college environment
  • Teaching experience in the college/university/secondary environments preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
Selection Process
  • Complete an audition/interview process
  • Demonstrate solo performance skills through recorded or live solo works
  • Demonstrate teaching abilities through recorded or live teaching of a student(s)
  • Discuss pedagogy, concepts, and recruiting with the staff
Benefits
  • Salary for adjunct faculty members is based upon level of education and range from $1,800 per 3-hour course for a Master's degree, up to $2,000 per 3-hour course for a doctorate
  • Salary for private lessons provided by an adjunct instructor is $35 per hour
