Regional Commodity Buyer

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Commodity Buyer to join our team at Magna Services. As a key member of our Global Purchasing Organization, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing purchasing strategies that align with our company's goals and objectives.

Your primary responsibility will be to source and manage the supply base for a segment or group of suppliers, ensuring compliance with our purchasing policy, internal code of ethics, and safety and environmental regulations.

• Assist in the development and implementation of purchasing strategies in conjunction with Regional Purchasing Operations Directors.
• Manage the supply base for a segment or group of suppliers, ensuring compliance with purchasing policy and regulations.
• Support the Purchasing organization under the leadership of the Regional Commodity Lead and Global Commodity Director.
• Participate in Global Commodity Director meetings for global strategy.
• Perform strategic sourcing analyses, including internal constraints, external risks, cost analysis, and understanding of strategic levers.
• Ensure supply base development aligns with the Commodity Roadmap.
• Responsible for commercial negotiations with local and global suppliers.
• Report key metrics as required by the Global Commodity Director.
• Support Engineering Change activities and Operational Purchasing teams to ensure continuity of supply.
• Manage supplier files, component files, RFQ, contract review, and other purchasing-related activities.

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, business, or related discipline.
• 5-10 years' progressive experience in purchasing, preferably in an automotive/manufacturing environment.
• Previous commodity experience, including aluminum, die casting, fasteners, forgings, cables, sleeves, and springs.
• Demonstrated success in satisfying OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in a complex, competitive automotive market.
• Functional experience in strategic planning, manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain management, and supplier quality.
• Knowledgeable in logistics, business quoting, and launch processes, industry best practices, standards, and performance metrics.
