About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Elderwood. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing high-quality speech-language therapy services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screening and Evaluation: Conduct thorough screenings and evaluations of residents to identify communication problems and develop personalized therapy plans.
  • Therapy Services: Provide individualized speech-language therapy services to residents, including audiometric screenings and referrals for further audiology evaluations or treatments.
  • Documentation and Communication: Maintain accurate and detailed records of resident evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, and communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with other healthcare professionals to integrate speech-language therapy services with other disciplines and ensure comprehensive care for residents.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices by attending in-service training and participating in professional development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Education and Licensure: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program and state licensure to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Clinical Competence: Clinical Competence Certification from the American Speech and Hearing Association is preferred.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Professional Qualities: Demonstrated maturity, diplomacy, and ability to work well in a team environment, with a strong commitment to upholding the values of Elderwood.
