Position Overview

Role Summary:
The Physician Assistant (PA), under the guidance of a supervising physician, is tasked with:
- Conducting thorough physical assessments and managing the treatment of conditions related to Head and Neck Surgery and Neurotology in both clinical and hospital environments.
- Assisting in surgical procedures, providing hospital rounds, and overseeing medical management in outpatient settings.
- Performing various procedures such as incision and drainage, suturing, and scope-related interventions.
- Managing a range of conditions, including but not limited to thyroid, parathyroid, and parotid disorders, head and neck malignancies, and swallowing disorders.
- Executing hospital procedures including nasal packing, endoscopy, foreign object removal, and tracheostomy tube changes.
- Engaging in advanced procedures with specific numeric requirements, such as endotracheal intubation.
- Monitoring patient progress and making referrals to specialists as necessary.
- Collaborating with physicians and healthcare staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Exhibiting professionalism and a compassionate approach in all interactions while pursuing personal and professional development.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Preferred experience as a surgical first assistant.
- Background in surgical practice or ENT is advantageous, but training is available for suitable candidates.
Work Schedule:
- Location: AdventHealth Orlando
- Work Hours: Monday to Friday
- On-call duties required, including hospital rounds and overnight coverage.
- Participation in rotating holiday on-call duties.
Educational and Professional Requirements:
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies.
- 1-2 years of experience in ENT preferred.
Licensure and Certifications:
- Valid Florida PA license.
- NCCPA certification (or equivalent).
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- RNFA Certification (for APRN candidates).
